WhatsApp fixed a small bug that could expose Instagram Reels links
WhatsApp fixed a problem that could let a specially made Instagram Reels link trigger harmful activity when opened in the app. People should make sure WhatsApp is updated so this fix is installed.
Who is at risk
Anyone who uses WhatsApp and may receive Instagram Reels links from friends, group chats, or unknown contacts is most at risk.
What to watch for
Be cautious of unexpected or suspicious Reels links in WhatsApp, especially if they come with pressure to click quickly or from someone you do not know well.
What to do
Update WhatsApp to the latest version immediately and avoid opening unusual Instagram Reels links until your app is fully updated.
