Warning for Steam Users

Scammers are using a fake player verification page connected to FACEIT to trick people into signing in to Steam through a login window that looks real. If someone enters their details, thieves can take over the account and possibly lock the real owner out.

Who is at risk

Steam players, especially those using FACEIT or clicking game-related sign-in and verification links, are most at risk.

What to watch for

Watch for unexpected verification requests, login pop-ups that appear during game or tournament sign-in, and links that ask you to sign in again even when you are already logged in.

What to do

Do not sign in through links from messages or pop-ups; instead, go directly to the official Steam and FACEIT websites yourself, change your Steam password if you already used the fake page, and turn on extra login protection.
