Millions of California-bought cars can be hijacked via Bluetooth
Researchers found that millions of cars sold in California with certain dealer-installed security add-ons may be vulnerable to a nearby Bluetooth-based break-in. In some cases, someone close to the vehicle could unlock doors or stop the car from starting after it has been turned off.
Who is at risk
People who bought a car in California with a dealer-installed KARR or SWDS security system are most at risk, especially if they park in public or shared spaces.
