Reddit may soon ask more people to sign in just to browse
Reddit says it will gradually limit how much people can view without logging in, as part of an effort to reduce large-scale copying of its content. This means more posts, comments, and community pages may soon require an account to read or use.
Who is at risk
People who read Reddit without an account, as well as anyone relying on Reddit links in search results, shared messages, or public browsing, may be most affected.
What to watch for
Watch for Reddit links that suddenly ask you to sign in, missing search results, or fewer visible posts and comments when browsing without an account.
What to do
If you use Reddit regularly, review your account settings, turn on extra sign-in protection, and save important posts or communities in case access changes.
