We Know Trust Is Hard to Give. Here’s Why You Can Trust MERENA.
A text says it’s from your bank. A “free” app wants your contacts. A pop-up says your computer is infected. Online, everyone asks for your trust, so it makes sense that it’s hard to give.
That goes for MERENA too. Before you let anyone help with your accounts, you should know who’s behind it, how it’s paid for and what happens to what you tell it. Here are our answers.

We started at a nonprofit
MERENA began inside the National Cybersecurity Center, a nonprofit in Colorado Springs. We were spun out on our own in spring 2026 with the same goal we started with: help everyday people stay safer online, without the jargon.
We’re a public benefit corporation
A public benefit corporation is a company that commits, in the way it’s legally set up, to a public benefit as well as to running a business. Its leaders are expected to weigh both. For MERENA, that benefit is helping people protect themselves online. It’s not a slogan on a web page. It’s part of how the company is built.
MERENA is free to use
Getting help staying safe online shouldn’t depend on what you can pay. MERENA’s free plan includes your personal cyber advisor, alerts about the accounts and services you use, a weekly personalized report and the email breach check at the top of merena.com.
If you want more, MERENA+ adds a personal dashboard and covers your family. But you don’t need it to get real answers.
What we do with your information
You tell MERENA about the accounts and services you use so it can give you advice that fits you. Here’s what happens to that information:
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- You’re in control. You can delete your account in your settings, and your profile and conversations go with it.
Our privacy policy has the details, and you can always email info@merena.com with questions.
Don’t just take our word for it
The best way to trust someone is to see how they treat you. Start small. Check your email in the free breach check, no account needed. Then ask MERENA the question that’s been on your mind, like “Is this text a scam?” or “Is my password good enough?” See if the answer is clear, calm and useful.
That’s the job we were built for: to be the one place you can bring every online safety question, and get a straight answer.
